It’s getting tougher and tougher making a living as a musician recording music and then touring to support it.  However if you are the Dave Matthews Band, Roger Waters or Bon Jovi, it was a complete piece of cake touring in 2010.

In 2010 Bon Jovi, according to Pollstar, made $108.2 million on tour.  This means that no one should underestimate the economic power that soccer moms have.

The closet competitor of Bon Jovi’s was Roger Waters.  His “Wall Live Tour” made $89.5 million.  In third place was the Dave Matthew Band with a gross of approximately $72.9 million.

Canadian acts also had successful 2010 tours.  Canadian performers in the top 50 included Michael Buble with $65.7 million, Justin Bieber at $48.3 million, Nickelback brought in $38.5 and Rush made $26.4 million

Rounding out the top 10 were Buble, followed by the Eagles with $64.5 million, then Paul McCartney with $61.8 million made, Lady Gaga with $51 million, Carole King and James Taylor with $50.7 million, followed by the Black Eyed Peas with $50.5 million, and then John Mayer with $49.9 million.
