Will.I.Am and Roger Waters are among the musicians who will be joining Amitabh Bachchan, the actor, and rockers Bon Jovi for Live Earth Indian on December 7. Various television outlets in South East Asia, Hong Kong and India will be broadcasting the concert. MSN will have the show online. Al Gore, former Vice President of the US, will also be making an appearance.
According to a recent press release, the Live Earth India event will be featuring collaborations between Indian and western artists that have been seen before, along with a wide array of musical genres ranging from American rock to Indian hip hop.
The international lineup includes Farhan Akhtar, Shiamak Davar, Bipasha Basu, Preity Zinta, Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Anoushka Shankar.
The event’s net proceeds will benefit Light a Billion Lives of TERI. The goal is to provide rural households with two hundred million solar lanterns that are without electricity currently. Climate Project India will also benefit from concert proceeds. The organization advocates renewable energy solutions for India and provides educational programs.
