Long estranged co-founder of Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, will be performing “Dark Side of the Moon,” Pink Floyd’s classic set, in full during a forthcoming North American tour.
An itinerary of 18 cities has been lined up by Waters. He will open in New Jersey on September 6 and conclude the tour with a Seattle appearance on October 12.
According to a press released issued by Columbia Records, the upcoming shows from Waters will consist of two sets along with encores and feature state of the art lighting, staging and sound.
The show’s first set will feature music from Waters’ entire career, including Pink Floyd selections and material from his solo set “Amused to Death.”
A full band and Waters will then perform Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” in the second set. The album after being released in 1973 stayed for a record 15 years on Billboard’s 200 album chart.
The touring band will feature guitarist Snowy White, vocalist/guitarists Andy Fairweather-Low and Dave Kilminster, keyboardist and vocalist Jon Carin, drummer Graham Broad, organist Harry Waters, saxophonist Ian Richie and vocalists PP Arnold, Katie Kissoon and Carol Kenyon.
Classic Pink Floyd band members included Waters along with David Gilmour, vocalist/guitarist, Richard Wright, keyboardist, and Nick Mason drummer. The last time the group performed together was at the Live 8 Benefit in 2005. It was the first time since 1981 that they had appeared together as Pink Floyd.
